YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

yoga flow

This class will challenge you with a variety of postures from multiple disciplines of yoga. Students have the opportunity at the beginning of class to request postures or parts of the body that they would like to focus on.

gentle yoga

Gentle yoga classes are a great way to restore, relax and rejuvenate. Perfect for beginners to learn the basics about postures and pranayama. These classes are wonderful for practitioners of all levels to release built up tension and practice mindfulness.

gentle theraputic yoga

Gentle therapeutic yoga is a practice of synchronizing breath with body. This series of dynamic and static postures is refreshing for the athlete and beginner yogi alike.

vinyasa improv

Vinyasa is characterized by flowing poses and sequences that are linked to the breath. This class is diverse and sequencing will vary and in general is a vigorous, more athletic approach to yoga.

hour of power

This class is geared for those who need a quick moment on the mat in the middle of the workday. We will focus on strength through a dynamic and challenging sequence of postures.

intro to yoga flow

Take it slow with this gentle, but deep approach to Vinyasa yoga. This practice links poses to breath to reveal body awareness, inner strength and easeful opening.

anusara yoga

A system of hatha yoga that is heart-oriented, spiritually inspiring and yet grounded in a deep knowledge of outer and inner body alignment. Anusara integrates three key areas of practice: attitude, alignment and action.

ashtanga improv

This class will prepare you for the poses within the Ashtanga Asana method. Asana is the third of the eight limb method of Ashtanga Yoga. Out of the five series of Asanas (postures), as sequenced and taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Elisa will weave a methodical improvisation to open your body to the chosen asanas of the day. After a traditional warm up and standing sequence, the class will begin to "research" with the body to build the strength, structure and muscular alignment necessary for specific postures. This vigorous class is counted breath by breath, move by move, like a dance. There are ways to modify any posture that does not suit your body.

honey flow

This is a sweet, steady 45 minute vinyasa flow to warm the body’s muscles and ligaments followed by a yin practice of longer more restorative holds to wind down. This class is a perfect balance of strengthening, lengthening and using the breath to move the body. This is a great class to wind down the weekend and prepare for the week.
